My grandfather Noah Bills was born in Gateshead County Durham in 1886,came to New Zealand with wife Mary Ellen in 1924 aboard 'SS Ruahine'. Noah's parents were Isaac and Alfreda Bills who married lived and worked as chainmakers in Gateshead, County Durham.
